Sidarian Nell, another of Graham Holland’s bitches, set the standard in the semi-finals of the Quickpark.ie Oaks over 525 yards at Limerick on Saturday.

Holland, who has four in the final of the Puppy Oaks at Shelbourne Park on Saturday, is certainly a man for the Ladies and has another top performer in Sidarian Nell.

The daughter of Leeview Jet was soon three lengths clear and although her stride started to shorten on the run for home she held off High St Jesse by three quarters of a length in 28.44sec.

There was a surprise in the other semi-final which went to Thomas Skillen’s Twilight Tear.

Adamant Gem led to the third turn but swallowed up.  Twilight Tear hit the front and came home two and a half lengths clear of Rural Maui in 28.57sec.  Skywalker Rossa looked a little unlucky in third.

The favourite Droopys Sambuca missed the kick again and found plenty of trouble.

Draw for Saturday’s final:

1 Elusive Maiden

2 Twilight Tear

3 High St Jesse

4 Skywalker Rossa

5 Sidarian Nell

6 Rural Maui
