Coolavany Gooch is fancied to land the richest race of the day in the £2,500 to the winner final of the Masters over 460 metres at Henlow.

John Gardner’s runner was easily the fastest semi-final winner when he led and came again to beat Sand Brier by a length in 27.61sec.

He is a dog that loves to race against the fence and his draw in trap one will make him hard to hold, especially as he is the only railer in the contest and the trap two runner Corner Crash is noted for taking a middle to wide course from traps.

Eric Cantillon’s Sand Brier has a decent draw in six and if he can start well and clear all the seeded runners he will have major claims.
