A little bit of history was made on Saturday night at Waterford when Ballydoyle Luna became the first 2019 whelp to win a race in Ireland.
What a win it was too! She won by a dozen lengths in 28.65. 14 month old Luna is from a repeat mating that includes Ballydoyle Moth who qualified at Curraheen Park at 13 months old in 291.3. (Luna qualified in 30.00 at Kilkenny).

The first cross between Kinlock Brae and Fear Emoski included Ballydoyle Valor (who won at Shelbourne on Saturday) and Roxholme Butt. There is a third litter of the same cross who were whelped last October.
None of which should take anything from the performance of Unlock Unlock and Droopys Curio who were separated by a short head in the second round of an unraced bitch state at Newbridge.
Finally, an unusual sight at Mullingar last Sunday when ‘Lingrawn’ littermates Cherry, Brandy, and Salmon won consecutive races on the card.
