Do not stand too close to Carl Perry. No explanations – four words: contract, killing, stray, bullet!

The bookie’s nightmare extended his tipping sequence to 4:4 with another brilliant double on Wednesday night’s Sheffield card.

First up was Rockforest Hugo (£40 @ 2-1) followed by Rackethall Bale (£60 @ 5-2). That is a profit of £230 on the night!

Yet Carl was actually outgambled by Nick Taylor whose confident ‘all in’ £100 @ 3-1 resulted in a magnificent £300 profit

Conor Wrigglesworth was also on Rockforest Hugo (£30 @ 2-1) though his other two were narrowly beaten for a net loss of £40.

Prior to lockdwn we had a couple of local owners interested in taking a view on Romford. If the idea still appeals – drop us a mail at [email protected] – Thanks Ed

NEWCASTLE

Tonight is the first night for the Geordies with Jimmy Fenwick choosing two worthy opponents in long term owner and shrewd punter Brian Usher, and one of the most form savvy GMs in the game, Ian Walton.

The form:

The views:

Jimmy Fenwick:

Lissatouk Max (R4 T1) was a winner last time out and left lots on track. He has very strong finish and should win this A1.  £25 win
Dilly Dilly  (R6 T6) is so well in herself though it is an incredible A1. There is a Group 1 winner in trap four but I think she can lead on outside £25 win

Skywalker Bonnie (R9 T3) is a puppy going the right way. She is up against experienced A1/open race field but I can see Bonnie leading all the way. £50win

Brian Usher:

It’s a very high quality card at Newcastle this evening. I have gone for Jimmy Fenwick’s very promising Looks Like Power (R6 T2) . It is bound to strip fitter for last weeks impressive comeback 28.68 and whilst desperate for the rails run up is fancied to clear Freedom Lord from trap 1 and go on to lead a very high quality field £70
My other selection is Stormy Azza (R4 T2) a very fast dog that is sure to lead trap 1 and hopefully get inside Glitter Gee (T3) and build a big enough lead to hold on it has a very quick sprint on its card pre lockdown 16.96. £30 win

Ian Walton

Final Mad (R1 T2) is an ex-open racer who went very well on his comeback last week. Stuart Tighe’s kennel is in good form and he should be good enough.  £30 win
Burgess Paddy (R3 T2) looks well drawn in what isn’t the toughest A2. I was very impressed with his run last week and would expect more improvement. £20 win

Droopys Word (R10 T4) Another for Stephen Caile. He is an ex-A1 runner who had no luck in running last time out. He is now well drawn in A3 and is my major fancy. £50 win

YARMOUTH

Nigel Tanner kicked ass on Monday with a £100 straight stake on a 15-8 winner.
Tonight though, Liam Aspin is taking on George Turner, kennel hand to trainer Sandra Clayton and Megan Barnard, daughter and kennel hand to trainer Irene Barnard. As you’d expect, both are regulars and top judges at the track, so hopefully between they can find some winners!

The views: – to follow

Liam Aspin
My first pick is Allen Belle (R3 T3) for Paul Burr. This August pup clocked some decent schooling trials before lockdown and has since done a tidy trial back. I think with the scope to improve she has enough to take this A6 event. £75 win
My second pick goes in the last race of the night. I have to say, with the form John Mullins has been in of late, it could be a slight risk taking one of his pups on! I’m with Trap 3 though, I’m Hunky Dory (R10 T3) for Erica Samuels. She looks a really nice bitch coming forward and drawn inside of Swift Impeach I think could be the key to the race. With a good break and leading around the first bend, she should take all the pegging back. £25 win
George Turner
George Turner’s first pick of the evening goes Detroit (R5 T2). As I’ve already mentioned John Mullins is in red hot form at the moment and this is another of his improving pups. George believes he can kick on off the front, to take what could well be, a comfortable success. £50 win
George ‘s second selection is Swift Honest. A winner last time out clocking 28.78 may not tell the full story. This son of Razldazl George found all sorts of trouble but still managed to come through and win. The hope then, is that there’s still more improvement to come from him. £50 win
Megan Barnard
Megan’s first pick of the night, an A1 affair, is Abigails Canary (R2 T2). Well drawn on the outside of slow starting Showtime Emoski, this bitch for Paul Burr looks like she could get first run to the bend and if doing so, surely takes all the beating. £50 win
For Megan’s second choice there’s a clash between us! She has stayed loyal to her kennel and gone for Scotchrath Finn (R3 T6). The son of Pat C Sabbath was second last time out and being the sole wide seed does look set for a solo. Killglen Tess on his inside is usually slow to start, giving him that extra bit of room on the run up. I just hope he doesn’t quite get to the Allen Belle.£50 win
