Towcester are delighted to announce that owners will be allowed back in from the week commencing 12th April after given the go ahead by their local council.

Towcester spokesman Nathan Corden said: “Our licencing authority, South Northamptonshire Council, have agreed for the return of owners to the racecourse in line with the next step of the Government roadmap. Covid restrictions around the racecourse will be maintained plus there will still be the need to segregate owners from trainers.

“We will be sending out full details to our owners and trainers early next week on how to book in, but in essence, owners will need to book their visits via their trainers at least 24 hours prior and then the trainers will relay the names and contact details to the racing office.

“This is great news for owners and we are pleased to welcome them back. Obviously there will be restrictions still in place but we are lucky in terms of the outside space we have here so hopefully we can make the experience as good as possible for them.

“We are grateful to South Northamptonshire Council for their help and the timing is perfect with owners allowed back in ahead of the Derby so they will be able to watch their greyhounds at the special Derby trial sessions as well as compete in Derby trial stakes which start soon.”
