This son of Sand Man was the joint record holder of both the English Derby (Wimbledon 480m) and Irish Derby (Shelbourne Park 550yds) track records. Something of a bridesmaid in competitions, his stud record was also a bit hit and miss. Although he never headed the stud table he did sire the likes of Farloe Melody and Cool Survivor. Who is he?

This is young Patrick with his dad after their Droopys Kewell had won the 2001 Champions Stakes. Who is Patrick’s dad? – Steve Nash pic

This great Irish champion won an English Derby consolation in 1974 before taking both the Irish Derby and St.Leger the same year when he was voted Greyhound of the Year. Sadly, he is best remembered in England for a famous fight in the 1975 semi finals. He went on to become a very successful stud dog who was sold to Australia but died in transit on his return to Europe. Who is this fabulous fawn?

Name the syndicate owner in the big hat

Perhaps one of the most important pix in our archive. Taken at White City, the dog is the brilliant track and coursing sire Newdown Heather. But who is the legend who trained him and handled him at stud?
