Work has still not commenced on installing the new grandstand at Swindon though Stadia UK director Bill Glass remains unconcerned.

The manufacture of the building was completed in May but has not been delivered due to ongoing drainage issues on the Swindon site.

Glass said: “The first point I should make is, the problem is not on our site, though we are impacted by it. The second point is that work was never going to take place until the end of the speedway season anyway. That won’t be until September so we are not behind on any schedule.”

The Wernick manufactured building will take just 10 weeks to install and will also be used by the Swindon Robins speedway supporters.

Swindon’s most profitable runner in 2017 is sure Grant Gillett’s Vale Eske (Ballymac Eske-Vale Turbo, Apr 15). Monday’s A4 victory was his eighth from just 15 graded races. A £10 bet on each of those races would represent a profit of £195.
