Regrets. . .  you’ve had a few. . . . not trusting me. . . . . you were a moron,

9-4 and 11-10 . . .  won half the track . . . . should had it all on

Life is going to be unbearable for anyone in the general vicinity of Peter Harnden‘s humming in the next few days.

After mouthing off how easy it was to pick winners at Nottingham, it was suggested he should back it up.

Unfortunately he did. Two £50 singles on Friday night at NOTTINGHAM for a profit of £167.50. Mark Pierrepont tipped up Plaza Lep at 4-7, but in all honesty who cares?

No – only one man could wipe the smug grin off Harnden’s face. The same man who had six runners at ROMFORD, didn’t think any could win. He was proved right, but accurately called most of the winners in those races. Which left him with one selection, the full £100 on 5-1 chance Signature Callum, for the single most successful night of any of the tipsters to date and a PROFIT OF £500 – we give you, the champion trainer himself, MAAAAAAARK WALLIS!

Read it and weep Harnden!

Oh yeah, some of the others had winning nights too, Jason Gander won his taxi fare (£50 profit), Paul Binks had twenty odd quid of his pot remaining for a bus ride home. Nathan Hunt was last seen walking up the A12.

HOVE

We built up last week’s Hove Tipsters Challenge as a firework explosion of excitement and passion. But it rained.

Forest Alan (R1 T4) The draw seems okay. He’s drawn between a wide and railer, so I can’t ask for much more. Will know my fate early with placing bet in first race  £100 win

Teresa Cahill

Forest Alan (R1 T4) has some good times over 515 last year. The longer run to bend which will suit him. Needs to keep out of trouble early to show his best ability £50 win
Sonic Stormi (R6 T4) Full brother to Ice On Fire. A long journey to make unless you think he stays. Has some early and trial was fine £40 win and £10 double

Darrell Willilams

The Hove sweet shop is stacked high with tasty short-priced favourites where the temptation is to keep on adding to the ever-bulging bag of goodies. But the test is not what to put in but what to leave out!
If I didn’t have such a sweet tooth I’d have the lot on the better for you option of Beechgrove Bell (R12 T4) who I fancy can lead and improve for the benefit of her comeback win last week. As it is, I’ll have £50 on – and whatever happens with such a late race I’ll still be in the game the other side of sunset! £50 win
But I can’t resist a little of sugary stuff so I’ll have the other £50 on a King Sheeran (R3 T6)/Smallmead (R8 T1) double. The former can regain winning form back in the liquorice stripes while there are few better prospects on the ground than John Mullins exciting bitch. £50 double

SHEFFIELD

Carl Perry lost his aura of invincibility on Tuesday, but can you keep a top tipster down for two meetings in a row. Darren and Glynn are still to prove they are not outclassed in this company.

Just the three runners for the kennel tonight. All have a good chance but didn’t make the list for my best bets of the night. They go to:

Zanzibar Jet (R3 T2) a very experienced dog in with a few unexposed pups and season campaigners. His record in the grade is nearly a 50% strike rate and see him blasting away from theses and making all £30 win

Sticking with sprints again and  Lightfoot Nessa (R T4). A winner last time out on only her second start, she looks to have been given a great chance to follow up. Still in the same grade and open to improvement £30 win

My last selection which would carry the nap of the night tag is Coney George (R9 T1). A winner of his four bend race by a wide margin in A5 recording 29.39. Reproduced a similar time in his trial and goes up to A3 tonight, but still looks a step in front of the grader has nothing to find. Can see him leading up the inside by the first bend and go away to win £40 win

Darren Driver

A very competitive 12 race card for viewers to get stuck into tonight. Whilst I will be keeping a close eye on the greyhounds trained by Lisa Stephenson, the two selections will be coming from other kennels.

There was a lot to like last time about Harton Hurricane (R7 T4). Having only his third start for Barrie Draper, he was quickly into his stride and never looked like getting caught. His clock of 29.71 didn’t go unnoticed by the grader. The son of Ballymac Eske has been given a two grade rise tonight for that run. That said, he’s a puppy in good hands and he also looks like he’s one to stay with. The newcomer in trap five has early pace and rates a danger. £60 win

My second selection is the youngster in Courtmac Regatta (R12 T2). Steve Naylor’s greyhound didn’t get a clear run on his recent debut but yet still clocked a respectable 29.55. That debut also came in A3 grade and he’s been given an immediate downgrade. He’s sure to have learned from his experience and if he progresses at all he won’t be far away. Difficult Day is a greyhound I’ve seen at Belle Vue and he stays well. He is definitely a better dog than we saw on his Sheffield debut recently and is a danger to Courtmac Regatta but it’s Steve Naylor’s dog for me. £40 win

Glynn Hobbs

Looking through tonight’s card I have a few selections which I feel will run a big race. Following on from last week’s picks I won’t be putting all my eggs in one basket.

My first selection goes in a very hot A2 race. Many of these dogs are up to A1/open class quality but I feel the makeup of the race could suit Carl Perry’s improving bitch Geelo Love (R3 T5) run a fantastic race in defeat last week, behind Zero To Flash and only went down by half a length. Hopefully tonight she can get on the bunny with a slow starter in the T4 and go on to win. £50 win.

My next selection goes in the Jaydee (R4 T6). Looking through this race like Swift Model last week. I feel the makeup of the race will suit this nicely positioned bitch. With not much early pace in the race hopefully she can get on the bunny, avoid any early trouble and stay this trip out well to win. £50 win.
