Fenview Rosie (12/1) landed the biggest success of her career when taking the George Ing St Leger final at Yarmouth on Thursday.

The Paul Steward trained bitch was handy from the start and cruised into the lead rounding the first couple of bends. Keeping up a relentless gallop, she never really looked like being beaten but was pushed hard in the end by Droopys Eager (8/1) with the winning margin down to a length at the line – the winner clocking a very decent 40.59sec for the 659 metres trip.

Boylesports Star (6/4F) failed to come away well and was never really at the races thereafter. Murrys Act (9/4) had something of a bumpy ride and could never get on terms while Barricane Tommy, who led for a bend or two, soon dropped back through the field.

Kilmore Lemon (4/9F) set new best figures with a demolition job in the 277 metres sprint. Clear from the off, he cruised home five lengths clear of Jazz Prince to stop the clock in a superb 16.02sec.

John Mullins notched up an open race double with Swift Gangster in the puppy race and Oh Nonono in another 462 metres contest. Richard Devenish was another to take a brace with the impressive Tea For Tess running her rivals ragged to win with ease over four bends and Ramspur Gunner, who quickly took control in his six-bend race.

At Hove, Seamus Cahill chalked up a treble when taking both heats of the Coral Sprint over 285 metres with Ravenswood Marty (16.29sec) and Droopys Perfect (16.42sec) while Sporting Dave, who just missed out on a place in the Select Stakes, made virtually all in the Standard final in a decent 29.74sec.

The run of the night, however, was from Heather Dimmock’s Donation, who destroyed her rivals in the bitches event over 515 metres. Smartly away, she was soon clear and drew away to win by over six lengths in an excellent 29.59sec, a time only bettered by King Turbo so far this year.

Black Zack impressed over 475 metres to stop the clock in the second fastest of the year 27.46sec, while his trainer Richard Rees notched up a double courtesy of 14/1 winner Elusive Pearl in the Maiden Stayers over 695 metres.
