If Poole’s Greyhound of the Year aware was decided at the two thirds stage, it would be Our Black Dream (Ace Hi Rumble-Coolykereen One, Apr 13). Bill Black’s black has won 11 of her 34 races and has climbed from A4 to A1. If you had staked £1 on her every time she went to traps you would be £28.25 in front for the year.

Dream is three wins clear of the chasing pack: Athboy Lucy, Cashen Matteo, Droopys Heidi, Ide Jackanjord, Ide Luka, Miss Royal and Whitemount Rocky.

Psychic Psych clocked the fastest time of the year over 450 metres at Poole in a top grade race at the Dorset venue on Tuesday. Alma Keppie’s runner blasted clear from trap six and went on to beat Loggies Lad by four lengths in 26.48sec, three spots faster than the time recorded by Boozed Miranda back in April.

Simon Harms’ Cashen Matteo (Cashen Legend-Shiraz Surprise, Sep 11) has recorded the two fastest time over the 640m course of 39.08 and 39.12.

Four and a half years after beginning his Poole career,  Swift Boost continues to produce for trainer John Grant. The Nov ’09 son of Daves Mentor and Swift Silver was recently elevated back into A2 company and has now been to traps on 185 occasions.
