ROXHILL MYSTIQUE is the eldest runner in the field but comes here in good form and a couple of recent 28.70’s means she’s got a chance. Outside her is FOREST YURI making his debut and this son of early paced freak DOROTAS WILDCAT should have a bright future ahead. CATUNDA TILLEY in 3 was recently disqualified but has a serious engine when she wants it.

EASY EXIT in 4 really needs to lead to show his best but was sent off favourite last time in this grade. BLACKLABEL DAM in 5 stays well but lacks a bit in the middle of the race at this trip. Any trouble though she’ll be flying close home. JACKO BOY in 6 ran a monster race last week but still came up short so you’d suspect he might be held again at this level

Selections – ROCHILL MYSTIQUE (1), FOREST YURI (2), CATUNDA TILLEY (3), BLACKLABEL DAM (5)

MAGICAL BLONDE was a decent winner in this grade last week off the back of a fairly slow early effort for him so there’s better to come and he’s on the shortlist. BARNAGRANE JAMES in 2 makes his British debut but his recent trials are very quick so he’s a huge player. 3 has a bit to find for me while 4 is lightly raced but 0 from 4 at this track so far including twice in a lower grade. Both 5 and 6 will be aiming to get out in front but the pair might just ruin the others chance. They met here on August 6th where 6 was favourite but missed the kick and 5 won the race beating him by 3 and a half lengths

Selections – MAGICAL BLONDE (1), BARNAGRANE JAMES (2), MUSIC AT REDROSE (5), DROOPYS LISBON (6)

18:48 – 480M – A1

On to the start of the Track Championships and I fancy the winner to come from the inside. CRUZ ON LOUIE is a bit erratic from the boxes but he’s a bang railer and the 2 won’t lead him up or cut in early. That means the red jacket should secure a clear run and that’s enough to see him land this. His main danger is the dog beside him with SERENE SNAPPER arriving here with back to back wins and just 7 races under his belt

Selections – CRUZ ON LOUIE (1), SERENE SNAPPER (2)

19:07 – 480M – A1

Again I’m drawn to the inside here and CALZAGHE EVAN traps much like the 1 dog in the previous race so that’s a punt. The two dog has similar sectionals but I think 1’s the faster dog and boasts a healthy 5 from 15 strike-rate. MAGICAL CARSON in the stripes has an absolute peach of a draw so he has no excuses and he’s certainly quick enough so the one to beat really. DROOPYS AUSSIE in 5 will come with a rattle late on but the draw isn’t ideal so I’d be happy to play the bookends here and be fairly confident

Selections – CALZAGHE EVAN (1), MAGICAL CARSON (6)

19:24 – 480M – A1

Final heat of the 480 now and the winner of the competition comes from this race as it looks really hot. 3, 4, 5 and 6 stand out on the clock but who makes the first bend in front will prove crucial. They all have sectionals in the 4.30’s but CALZAGHE BOYO in two has a 4.29 so it’s just so hard to call the first bend. That might bring in the one dog ELDERBERRY SKY who needs to find a chunk on the clock, but could avoid incident. The outside duo are a bit quicker though which sways the votes in their favour but this is a leg where the same race run 6 times could easily produce 6 different results

Selections – MARKET CALL (5), JAZZERS MAN (6)

19:44 – 630M – S1

6 bend track championships now for the final three legs and I’m pretty sweet on DISTANT MOVE in 5. Twice a sub 38 second runner and this is by far his easiest assignment for some time. How he fares in the early exchanges is always a worry though and BIT VIEW YEATS on his inside might be able to get on the bunny and that will make him the most likely danger

Selections – BIT VIEW YEATS (4), DISTANT MOVE (5)

20:03 – 630M – S1

So there’s a runner in here who I think has loads more to come in this sphere but the draw does worry me and that WESTMEAD CHANNEL. There was an issue at the boxes last week so the hare was stopped after they opened but she actually pinged and I think she would have won that day. Now she’s not reliable out of the boxes but she stays on so well and she’s improving with every start. The major worry is that the 4 dog has loads of early as does the 2 so she’s not ideally drawn. That said, I’m a big fan of hers and I’ll take the punt on her securing a clear run to win this before going onto better things

Selections – WESTMEAD CHANEL (3)

20:23 – 630M – S1

This looks the most open heat of the three but I’ve had a soft spot for BEATTIES POWER for a while now and I’m sure he can go quicker. He might not need too though as the field look capped in the 38:30’s. He is well drawn too, a recent winner in this grade and I think his only real threats are drawn on the inside and they could cut each other off so it’s another banker leg for me. SPORTING GIGI on his outside would be a real worry if he even came out of the boxes in front

Selection – BEATTIES POWER (5)
