We are very sad to report the death of Maerion Fenwick earlier this morning. Maerion succumbed to a stroke and had been battling dementia for some time.

A kind and invariably cheerful lady, Maerion and husband Wanny shared an involvement in greyhound racing spanning more than half a century. In addition to breeding the hugely successful ‘Gan On’ runners, they achieved great success in the 1970s with the brilliant Laurdella Fun. That love of the breed was passed on to their son, the Newcastle trainer Jimmy.

Our thoughts are with Jimmy and the extended family.
