Glenpadden Lord was the highlight in another fine night for Barrie Draper at Sheffield on Tuesday. The dog was odds-on for one of the evening’s 500-metre opens and he rewarded his supporters with a comfortable victory over Swift America in 28.50, fastest of the year at the South Yorkshire racecourse.

The most exciting finish of the night came in one of the two sprint opens where locally bred Methley Bridge (Burnopark Champ-Droopys Peaches) was first home with the whole field covered by less than two lengths.
