The first is a series of GBGB inquiries into positive tests for ‘5-HTP’ were held yesterday. A GBGB statement reads:

 

At Disciplinary Committee Hearings held yesterday the following licensed individuals were found to be in breach of the GBGB Rules of Racing:
Professional trainer Ronald Paterson was found to be in breach of Rules 152 (i) & (ii), 174 (i) (a), 214 and 217 in regard to a urine sample taken from the greyhound Rothweiler Lilly at Sunderland Stadium on 26 March 2013 which was analysed by LGC health Sciences and found to contain 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). Mr Paterson was severely reprimanded and fined £750.

Kennelhand Terry Moss was found to be in breach of Rules 152 (i) & (ii), 174 (i) (a) and 217 in regard to a urine sample taken from the greyhound Rothweiler Lilly at Sunderland Stadium on 26 March 2013 which was analysed by LGC health Sciences and found to contain 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). Mr Moss was severely reprimanded and fined £500.

Professional trainer Glenn Lynas was found to be in breach of Rules 152 (i) & (ii), 174 (i) (a), 214, 216 and 217 in regard to a urine samples taken from the greyhounds Ballybooby Bart on 23 January 2013, Dilly Celt on 15 February and Darbystown Angel on 26 March at Sunderland Stadium which were analysed by LGC health Sciences and found to contain 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). Mr Lynas was severely reprimanded and fined £2000.

 

Tomorrow professional trainers Seamus Gaughan, John Lambe and Simon Deakin will appear before the Disciplinary Committee charged with breaches of the GBGB Rules of Racing in relation to 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP).
