Kevin Hutton’s ‘pension’ – his regular Wednesday visit to Swindon – paid off again this week with a treble in the three opens in which he had runners.

Perhaps the most interesting was another victory for ‘that litter’ with Forest Natalee (Ballymac Vic-Droopys Danneel, May 15) in the sprint. Opposed in the betting (5-4) by new kennelmate Ela Ela Genie (4-6f), the dark brindle, who had a 16.04 (calc) qualifying trial on her card, made it three wins in her last five races in 16.15. It was the fastest 285m run of the last four years.

Puppy Forest Chunk (Tullymurry Act-Forest May, Jul 15) won the second leg when taking the standard 480m open in a highly respectable 28.66. Contesting only the third race of his life, having been eliminated from the Gymcrack last time out, beat the experienced Tommys Approach by half a length for the 480 metres with litter brother Jet Stream Time back in third.

Dark Rooler (Droopys Cain-Josies Hondo, Nov 14) who had a 2:3 strike rate over the 509m course made it 3:4 with a hard won one length win over Sawpit Sunshine. The 7-4 shot clocked his quickest to date, 30.12.

The was no Hutton representative in the 685m open and it was duly polished off by David Jeans’ A2/S1 regular Leigh Vicky (Ballmac Vic-Leigh Fancy, Nov 14) in a three way photo – hd, sh – from Windy Winston and Jet Stream Bound (4-6f). The winner’s time was 42.17
