Golden Jacket and Three Steps to Victory winner Patchys Kerry was found out on the large expanses of Hove in Thursdays Regency Trial Stakes over 695 metres.

Mark Wallis’s bitch was soon clear and once she saw off the early challenge of Henlow Gold Cup winner Mossvale Ace she looked set for victory.

However Droopys Cottage came from out of the clouds to get up close home and score by just over a length in 41.51sec.

Wallis also had no luck with his St Leger finalist Ferryforth Fran in Division O which went the way of  Dave Firmager’s 16-1 outsider Fabulous Landing in 41.98sec.

Firmager has a double when his Fabulous Blast led off the penultimate turn to beat Dashing Star by half a length in Division A in 42.10sec.

Market Heights outstayed Droopys Flash in Division L to score by a neck in 42.03sec.

Golden Jacket Finalist Oneco Sky showed he is a much improved performer these days when quickly going clear in Division R to account for Ribble Atom by almost four lengths in 41.65sec.

Seamus Cahill’s Banabane was soon clear to land the Hove Thursdays Ladies Final over 515 metres in 30.23sec.

The Hove Thursday Maiden went to Alma Keppie’s Eskes Champ, who swept past the pace-making Sporting Gift at the penultimate turn to score in 27.81sec.
