There were plenty of very fast times at Dundalk though the nod goes to Heisman with another sub 21.00 run in the final of the Irish Sprint Cup. At Cork, Holycross Lad won the Red Mills Unraced, while Saleen Hunter landed a puppy stake at Drumbo, just edging the nomination over the fastest sprinter of the year Rosegarland Troy. There was also a FOY at Tralee for Madabout Kado
Sometimes, these nominations are ‘penalty kicks’, and no better example that Headford Iso, who clocked the only sub 29.00 run at Enniscorthy last week, and was the only 2016 whelp to win.
Finally, with little to choose between a whole bunch of Waterford winners this week, the nomination goes to Oulartleighgenie, a rare five year old success story.
