Crouchs Princess looks a high class bitch in the making and Jimmy Gaskin’s October 2020 whelp can land open class at the first time of asking when she lines up in a Doncaster 483m Puppy open at 753pm tonight. With just the two runs under her belt she should have plenty left in the locker however ran out a comfortable enough winner of a decent A2 at the track last time out. Not the best away on that occasion she showed plenty to the bend and though running a little green in front still comfortably held off Sean Parker’s Lightfoot Sancho by 2 3/4 lengths. Harji Bhaji drawn to her inside wouldn’t be the fastest into stride and Crystal Cardi to her outer is likely to move off on the run up. That should leave the path clear for Princess to pace up and lead round and she can take this before moving onto better things in the coming months.
Craig Brown’s De Dancing King is another greyhound with a nice looking draw as he attempts to take the 483 maiden at 817pm. This greyhound was off the card for 4 months between the end of November and when reappearing in a Kinsley A3 late in March. It was a much improved effort from him as he ran away with that race and though beaten since at Sheffield that was in a fair open which he held very little realistic chance. He steps down into maiden company tonight and an average maiden it has to be said. The sole railer in the field he can make full use of the space he’ll likely receive to shed his maiden tag.
Ben Reynold’s Matts Malibu takes a big step down from his usual class when lining up in a 275m sprint at 838pm. A finalist in the Sovereign Sprint at Towcester last year as well as a semi finalist in the Scurry Gold Cup at Perry Barr he usually faces and runs with credit against the likes of Shrewd Call , Crossfield Dusty , Havana Class and Ballymac Slapup. With all due respect there is nothing even close to that calibre of greyhound in this race and though he’ll be priced accordingly he should land the spoils.
