Juvenile winner Ballymac Brogan was back in winning ways in the Coral Olympic Trial Stakes over 515 metres at Hove on Thursday.

Racing over the longest distance he has tackled, Seamus Cahill’s runner trapped well and went clear on the run to the turn. He eventually beat last year’s Eclipse winner Fit To Win by almost four lengths in 29.86sec.

Kennelmate and track record holder Southfield Jock went quickest in the Thursday Night Maiden heats when pulling clear off the second turn to beat Lenson Tiggy by two and a half lengths in 27.73sec.

Daniel Brabon’s Tullig Storm was a shock 7-1 winner of the second qualifier when catching long-time leader Lenson Santi close home to score by a neck in 27.95sec.
