With so many big names on show, Laurence Jones’ appropriately named Our Surprise clocked the fastest time Friday’s Boylesports Derby second round heats.
There were no stand-out performances on the night with the fastest quartet of winners clocking between 29.42-29.48.
The biggest shock of the night was the defeat of ante post favourite Wolfe who was outpaced to the bend and then denied a run by the deserving Toolmaker Me Dad. It was a great night for Scottish owner Willie Hyslop who completed a 49-1 double with Toolmaker Daddy.
Despite the defeat of Wolfe, Graham Holland had a decent evening led by litter brothers Slippy Cian and Lenson Blinder who both won, though the return to form after injury of Newinn Lester would have given him just as much satisfaction.
