Only Gold Collar winner Corrin Bob was able to prevent Eric Cantillon from taking a clean sweep in the 550 metre Henlow Cesarewitch.

Rhincrew Sid (8-1) slipped first bend carnage in the opener to clock 33.76. The similarly priced Blackrosecrocket wore down early challenger Westmead Rena to land the second heat in 33.91 – favourite Blonde Razor went out.

Blackrose Khan made it three in a row for the kennel when catching joint favourite Droopys Kezo (hd) in the slowest of the qualifiers, 34.07

The 6,800-1 four timer was thwarted when Blackrose Camino (16-1) was picked up and beaten a length by Ernie Gaskin’s Cat 2 winner who crossed the line in 33.96.

RPGTV Henlow Derby fourth Loughteen Eoin set the standard in the first round of the Henlow Christmas Cracker with all qualifiers going to two kennels.

Tony Ward’s black, who has a personal best over course and distance of 27.44, outstayed early leader Blackrose Amber to win by four lengths in 27.68 (-20) for the 460 metres. The kennel’s second winner was Monroe Scolari who turned over hot favourite Aero Babooshka in 27.81.

There was, nevertheless, a double too for champion trainer (reigning and uncatchable) Mark Wallis. Illewitalot landed the opening heat at the expense of Laurels winner Millwards Whitey who ran on for third.

Wallis’ double was secured by the occasionally eccentric, but always able Blue Moment, who looked a class superior when winning in 27.86.
