Ashway Billy will be retired after his 200th race at Swindon tomorrow and goes out with a special trophy and race to mark the occasion.

The Oct ’15 son of Droopys Jet and Coolykereen Joy exits racing one day short of five years since he made his debut at Tralee.

He contested his first Swindon race in August 2017 and has been at the track ever since. He peaked at A3 though has contested six bend races.

Trainer Adrian Rowling said: “The racing office put him in a few though he never really got much further than about 550.

“But he has been a nice genuine little dog. He’s had 27 wins but 40 seconds; a lot of the time he came through the field but one always seemed to get away.

“We are looking for a home for him if anyone is interested. You can’t keep them all, and the two retired ones I have here are lunatics that I wouldn’t want to see with a member of the public.

“He is a nice quiet friendly dog and would make someone a nice pet.”
