Adageo Bob produced a remarkable display to qualify for next week’s final of the Coral Champion Stakes over 575 metres at Romford in Friday’s semi-finals.

Mark Wallis’s course and distance specialist was last out of the boxes and only fourth passing the judge with a circuit to go as the pace was cut out by Teejays Panther. However he weaved his way through and caught the leader off the last turn and went on to score a length and a half victory in 35.70sec.

The fastest performance came from Jet Stream Sound in the opening semi-final.

Kevin Hutton’s runner flew out of the boxes and went clear with each stride. He eventually beat Patchys Kerry, who got up in a four way photo-finish for second place, by over seven lengths in 35.15sec.

Hazel Kemp’s Franks Dream was a trap to line winner of the last qualifier when holding Jaytee Berlin by just over a length in 35.60sec.

Hutton’s Jolly Ranger went quickest in the Champion Night Standard over 400 metres. Kevin Hutton’s runner made all to score by nine lengths in 24.17sec.

The other heats winners were Any Dak with 24.59ec and Reel Shirty with 24.87sec.

Paul Young’s Emmas Memory was the fastest winner in the Champion Night Bitches Final over 400 metres when scoring a trap to line win in 24.19sec.

Young was also on the mark with Sneezys Lily who clocked 24.40sec while Kevin Hutton’s Jolly Vegas overcame trouble in heat one to record 24.46sec.
