Barnfield Panda clocked the joint fastest time of the year in the Texacloth Puppy Derby semi-finals over 525 yards at Newbridge.
Pat Buckley’s new acquisition was completing a five-timer when leading early to beat Badminton Rossa by a length in 28.28sec, equalling the time recorded by Droopys Streak back in March.
Strangely the track kept the going at the usual .20sec slow even when virtually all the winners found lumps of time.
Pat Guilfoyle’s Skywalker Rory is improving with each run and picked up the early leader Water Fern on the last turn in the second semi-final and went on to score by four lengths in 28.52sec.
