Liz McNair’s Warzone Tom set the standard in last night’s Premier Greyhound Racing Champion Stakes Semi Finals as he sauntered to a 4 length success over Maxine Locke’s Droopys Garden in a new 575m track record time of 3455.  Both greyhounds progressed to next week’s £20,000 to the winner final as did Arran Dunn’s Aero Squeak who held on gamely to win the second semi final of the night by a diminishing neck from Irene Barnard’s Come Asyouare.  The third semi final was taken by the Mark Wallis trained Antigua Bigun who stopped the clock in 3513 with David Mullins Waste House Izzy who was sent off the 18/1 outsider of her field causing something of a surprise to qualify 1 3/4 lengths back in second.

The draw for the Champion Stakes Final along with full form is produced below as is the that of the supporting finals along with all the action shots from last night by the sports leading photographer Steve Nash. It looks all set to be another superb evening’s racing at the Essex venue.
