TV families

At the time of writing, no bookmaking firm had shown its head above the parapet in pricing up Saturday’s Stadium Bookmakers TV Trophy heats from Oxford.

One certainty is the that the Mark Wallis trained MWD owned littermates Garfiney Blaze and Ballymac Taylor will be near the summit of the ante post betting. So what does the trainer make of the contest?

The TV Trophy heats will be supported by nine additional opens with the star attraction being Greyhound of the Year Droopys Clue in a 650m contest – full form below.

Yarmouth graded racing at its best!

Will there be an A1 staged this week to even come close to the top heat from Yarmouth on Wednesday?

The field included Wrighty (RU Juvenile Classic/Gymcrack), Roxys Bullet (Essex Vase), Ballyard Shawny (3rd Silver Salver, 4th Bedfordshire Sprint), Smores (BRT 27.43), Alberts Legacy (PB 27.56) and Inflation (BRT 27.71). All six are open race winners.

The layers made Wrighty the 9/4f but he was short-headed by 5/1 shot Ballyard Shawny.

Coventry housing plan quashed

Plans to demolish Coventry Stadium and build houses appear to be over after owners Brandon Estates declined to appeal a decision to refuse planning permission by Rugby Council.

Greyhound racing ceased at the stadium for the final time in 2016. The site has since been vandalised and almost destroyed by fire following apparent arson two years ago.
