The next phase of development is underway at Abbey Stadium.

Work has commenced at a pace in Swindon which will see the completion of the new racing kennels and customer facilities together with a new entrance, car park layout.

A spokesman for the stadium said, “after long delays as a result of changes of design, the reserve planning for new homes and the Pandemic we are finally underway on this fifth and last stage of the development at Abbeymeads.

“We expect works to run through to mid next year when the new customer facility and kennels will be ready, and the finishing line will swap sides to the North.

“We have previously completed the new shortened circuit and now need needed to carefully manage the sequence of works so that they do not affect the operation of the stadium for greyhound racing.

“It is very much business as usual with our very busy schedule of five meetings a week. We have planned well, and we expect little inconvenience to our trainers, owners and patrons during these works”.
