What a disaster! A rare absolute stinker for the four tipsters from the Newcastle card. Some of it brought about – it has to be said – by cockiness . You know who you are Jimmy Fenwick

Barry Stanton picked two winners from his four selections but missed out – cos they were the ‘wrong two’. Net Loss £100

Jimmy Fenwick put readers onto his 7-2 winner Cooneen Jack, and two more winners besides, but defeat for Roxholme Nidge cost him a spectacular £100 acca Net Loss £100

Tony Johnston was a little less ambitions but Ballydoyle Maura cost him a £100 double with Droopys Expert Net Loss £100

Finally Darrell Williams also went for Cooneen Jack but was unable to find any support for his trixie with Heroic Miss and Dorotas Vic both missing out. Net Loss £100

So we return for a mixture of proven quality and newcomers. In the first camp, we have our first ever representative for the media in the Challenge, and to date, a real Harry Kane of a tipster, Steve ‘Nasher’ Nash. For the owners, the unbeatable, to date, head of Romford’s Owners Association Paul Binks. One more winning week and he will probably have a Coral contract on his head.

For the newcomers we have Phil Simmonds’ first lieutenant and assistant trainer Nathan Hunt plus our first Bunny to take part. We are talking Henlow layer ‘Danny’ from Bunny Bookmakers. No one knows his real name – well you know how it is with the chalk monkeys, bit of ducking, bit of diving, bit of hopping. . .

Although we have a few accepted invitations already in the book, we are interested in hearing from anyone who fancies taking part in future punters’s challenges. Get in touch at [email protected]

The rules remain unchanged – the placing of a fictional £100 on the SKY card, singles or multiples. We quote early prices, but make winning calculations based on SP (since the early prices may be spread across different firms).

Full form is below tips

Paul Binks (Owners)

8:33 – Calico Ranger This dog really caught my attention on Derby final night when it took off from halfway to beat Droopys Gold and I can see him having too much pace for these from the seconnd bend powering home to win well. My nap
9:08 – King Kid Rab and Liz’ dog has really changed his style of running of late with a strong finish and being slightly sluggish at the boxes. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Rab getting King Kid out the traps quicker tonight and his pace off the third bend could see him outstay the early pacesetters in the British Breeders Final.

PUNTING: £50 Win Calico Ranger (5-2), £50 win doube with King Kid (9-4)

Steve Nash (Media)

7.26 – Salacres Vincent Expect him to lead early and be good enough.

7:43 Geelo Zip – Impressed me at Newcastle and I do like a bitch in form even though she lacks course knowledge.

PUNTING: 2 x £40 win singles Salacres Vincent (3-1) and Geelo Zip (11-10) £20 win double

Bunny Bookmakers (bookies)

7.26 – Calico Blackjack Follow up on recent success with a perfect makeup in trap six. Follow them round and pick them off one by one down the back straight and hit the front off the fourth bend.

8:33 Fweshfromthesesh- Back on top form following exploits in Ireland. Long run to bend will suit. Lead by first bend and set sail for home. Hold off late challenge of trap five.

PUNTING: 2 x £50 win singles Calico Blackjack (6-4) and Fweshfromthesesh (7-4)

Nathan Hunt (Trainer)

7:26 – Calico Blackjack  With a clear run this lad will put on a bold show. Recent sprint trial at Perry Barr catches the eye. NAP

7:43 – Geelo Zip – This race is sponsored by Geelo racing and I fancy this very talented bitch to put in a classy performance for them tonight. Carl Perry to have a good night hopefully

8:16 – Vatican Rocco: First race back after a  rest. Will need to clear 3 early doors but well capable of a big run when on the skin

8:33 – Tyrur Stan: Some very fast trials off moderate breaks on his card. Can see the outside trio battling for ground with this strong sort having plenty of room on the rails.

8:51 – Geelo Brenny: a pacey individual who should be too good for these even without a look round
PUNTING: £30 win double Geelo Zip (11-10) Geelo Brenny (11-8)  £40 win Calico Blackjack (6-4) Two £10 wins and £10 double Vatican Rocco (8-1) and Tyrur Stan (7-2)
