Shaws Dilemma has been named the GBGB 2016 Best Dam of British Bred. The 2009 William Hill Oaks heroine, who went through that competition unbeaten, had two litters by Droopys Scolari on the ground in 2016.

The October 2012 litter featured Queen Asia, who won the Truframe British Bred Oaks at Doncaster and reached the finals of the Calne Arc at Swindon, the British Bred Sprint at Wimbledon and the British Breeders Stakes at Nottingham. The litter also contained King Alley, who also reached the finals of the British Bred Sprint at Wimbledon and the Calne Arc at Swindon as well as the final of the William Hill Derby Plate at Wimbledon.

Shaws Dilemma’s other litter by Droopys Scolari was whelped in December 2014 and her puppies made an immediate impression when hitting the track in the second half of the year. King Eden won the RFS Puppy Derby at Wimbledon, beating litter brother King Kid into second, completing an amazing one – two for their dam. King Eden won 10 races in 2016, including the Nottingham Puppy Trophy final. There were also Open race wins for King Alan, King Diego, Queen Charlotte and Queen Lucy.

The trophy will be presented to Liz and Rab McNair on behalf of owners and breeders the KSS Syndicate.
