Richard Brankley, Ladbrokes Head of Stadia, believes the absence of the SKY cameras took nothing away from the Gold Cup meeting at Monmore on Thursday night.

He said: “I thought the way RPGTV broadcast the show with Hobbsy on-site worked brilliantly. In fact, I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed the last three Thursdays. We have had good racing in front of a really knowledgeable crowd. We had over 600 in for a Thursday night meeting and virtually all came outside onto the terraces to watch the racing. You put on decent racing and the greyhound people respond.

“I was delighted for connections of Jaytee Spartacus. He is a beautiful dog and ran so well here at the Lol Jones Festival last year. I thought he was a worthy winner.”
