Barnfield Panda can complete an unbeaten run through the 40th running of the Texacloth Puppy Derby over 525 yards at Newbridge.
Pat Buckley’s runner has won his last five races, including two over course and distance and in last week’s semi-finals he clocked the joint-fastest time of the year when leading early to beat Badminton Rossa by a length in 28.28sec.
He has a brilliant draw in trap one and is fancied to quickly go beyond recall.
Badminton Rossa, a Southern Oaks runner-up, who was beaten a length by the selection, is a huge threat if she can turn in a handy position. She came from six lengths behind last week to get within a length.
Skywalker Rory is the only seeded runner in the final and commands respect. Pat Guilfoyle’s runner landed his semi-final in 28.52sec and getting better with each outing.
