As the Star Sports & ARC English Greyhound Derby fast approaches the number of greyhounds showcasing their talents is increasing with each passing meeting and trial session. Some of the runners will be quite forward at this stage whilst some will no doubt be needing a run or two before approaching optimum fitness for the tough 500m Derby course of Nottingham.
During the Derby itself I will be providing the usual computer generated halfway times , however I thought it would be interesting to take a look at a selection of the runners in the build up this year too.
Over Monday and Wednesday, looking at both trial sessions and the trial stakes races, Ted Soppitt’s lightly raced October 2018 pup Blackstone Milo sets the standard, recording 14.78 to my back straight marker
