The 3rd Greyhound Trader Online Auction of the year took place over the recent weekend and unsurpisingly a number of dogs will soon have new owners!

Topping the sale was the Jan’21 brindle dog Romeo Top Cat. Currently trained by Patrick Janssens in the UK, the already 7-time Towcester winner was highly sought after and was sold for over his reserve price of £10,000. Bought with an immediate eye on the upcoming English Greyhound Derby in the UK, it is clear to all that they have a ready-made genuine Derby contender on their hands with the added value of being British-Bred which will no doubt see him aimed at the Produce Stakes later in the year too.

Maree Sydney was another greyhound popular in the online market. An August 2021 whelp by Droopys Sydney, the 28.99 Galway winner sold for £5800 to ‘that man’ Frank Gray who has previously had success from the mother in the likes of Savana Poncho and Jumeirah Lola. An exciting addition, he could very well soon become a Sunday RPGTV regular for viewers to enjoy.

Others of notable interest selling within the auction period itself are Tory Bellatrix (£4250) who looks an exciting 6-bend prospect in the UK and Coolavanny Derek (£3350) who might end up being an ideal candidate for the Romford Puppy Cup in September.

Late moves were also made for Are Malikian and Knockboy Curragh who will soon be heading across the waters, and possibly in time for the English Greyhound Derby which starts on the 25th May.
