Portumna Socks and Listry Ace were the two major award October award winners recogised by Hove’s owners association, the BGOA.
Portumna Socks (Taylors Sky-Portumna Bridge, Apr 14) completed a five-timer for owner/trainer Paul Garland. The D1 open racer has eleven wins and three seconds from his 17 races to date. If you had backed him for £1 every time he raced, you would be just over £15 in front.
Listry Ace (Kinloch Brae-Hidden Ace, Oct 12) also celebrated her fourth birthday with a 567-1 five-timer (A9, A8 x 2, A7, A6) before finally being ‘half lengthed’ in A5 for the Noramac Racing Club.
