When five out of the top six in three Category One semi finals make it through to the decider, you are guaranteed an exciting finale. On Tuesday November 22, Nottingham punters can expect an absolute cracker in the Betfred Eclipse decider. The semis went as follows:

Droopys Buick (4-6f) landed the first qualifier from trap four with second favourite Barricane Tiger (T1 4-1) the three and three quarter length runner-up in 29.41. Peregrine Falcon (T2) was third.

Next quickest on the clock was the red jacketed Bubbly Bluebird (1-2f) who beat Ballymac Mossjoe (T3 3-1) by two lengths in 29.65 with Fourpenny Blaze (T4) in third. Interestingly, Bluebird did not appear to break particularly well but still recorded the only sub 5.00 sectional (4.98).

The remaining qualifier saw the night’s biggest turn-up when 6-4f Pinpoint Boss (T6) failed to make it through along with third favourite Kildallon Bolt (T4) also perished. It was left to Steel City Cup  runner-up Tynwlad Baz (T1 2-1) to do the business from the ultra consistent Shaneboy Freddie (T3 6-1) with Stay Lucky (T5 16-1) in third.

With six railers through, the draw for the final was crucial and the two market leaders drew their favourite boxes. The sponsors bet 6-4 Droopys Buick, 7-4 Bubbly Bluebird, 6-1 Tynwald Baz, 8-1 Ballymac Mossjoe, 10-1 Barricane Tiger, 12-1 Shaneboy Freddie
