A track record equalling run by Forest Con (Ballymac Vic-Droopys Danneel, May 15) was the highlight of a lucrative SKY undercard for Seamus Cahill.

A share of the clock looked a remote possibility when Seamus Cahill’s Ladbrokes Puppy Derby winner practically sauntered away in the 475m open. But like the rest of his ‘Dorota’ littermates, Con is blessed with devastating backstraight pace. The 4-6f flew along the far side and eventually pulled away for a three and a half length victory over Minglers Toure in 27.42, thus equalling the previous best recorded by recently retired kennelmate Southfield Jock.

The first leg of the Team Cahill short priced four timer went to the hugely impressive pup Droopys Gold (Loughteen Blanco-Droopys Force, Sep 15) who ran like a 2-5 chance should, when taking the first 515m open by almost ten lengths in the fastest time of the night, 29.73.

The third leg of the treble went to hurdler Ballymac Manix (Ballymac Vic-Moyar Kite, Sep 13). The 2-1 second favourite took full advantage when Dranoel (T1) stepped right across the path of favourite Sober Call (T2) at the starting traps. Manix led and held on from an unlucky Call in 30.28

The fourth leg of the accumulator was hard won by Brinkleys King (Blonde Snapper-Grayslands Swan, Jan 14) who scraped home in a 515m open by a short head in 30.10.

The good fortune that had favoured the previously two winner certainly levelled out with the kennel’s seventh and last runner on the night. Karlow Turbo (1-1f) trapped in front, led to the first bend and was KO’d.
