Juvenile Champion Ballymac Brogan looked back to his best when setting the standard in the Lawrence Jones Festival Dogs heats over 480 metres at Monmore on Friday.

Seamus Cahill’s runner flew out and made all to slam Express Master by six lengths in 27.81sec.

Jimmy Wright’s Northern Puppy Derby Droopys Buick was almost as impressive in his qualifier when leading early to beat Face The Blade by six lengths in 27.88sec.

Steve Race’s La Maqina landed the other heat in 28.14sec.

The two market leaders in the Lawrence Jones Festival Puppy heats were well beaten.

Coolavanny Pat found trouble early and could only finish fourth to Irish raider Trade Freddie, who scored in 28.33sec.

Carlos Court could only finish fifth in the second heat to Barrie Draper’s all the way winner Ballymac Ramsey in 28.11sec.

Paul Young’s Jaytee Spartacus was the most impressive winner when scoring by almost ten lengths in 27.93sec.

St Leger winner Fizypop Buddy went crashing out of the Lawrence Jones Festival 684 when only finishing fourth in his heat.

The race went to all the way winner Swansalona Diva in 41.24sec.

Richard Devenish’s Romany Rouge set the standard when making most in his qualifier to hold Kent St Leger winner Droopys Tamera by a length in 41.09sec.

John Mullins’ Deanridge Pennys was soon clear in heat one to beat Oneco Melissa by three lengths in 41.44sec.

Southfield Jock set another record in the Lawrence Jones Festival 416 heats.

Seamus Cahill’s Hove 475 metre record holder runner was soon clear and came home seven lengths clear in 24.01sec.

Charlie Lister’s Boyneside Fun with 24.32sec and Droopy Haiti (24.58sec) were the other winners.
