BLACKROSE BUDDY Formerly known as Castlemary Buddy. 28.42 form at Clonmel, but didn’t fire at Limerick. Needs to avoid red.

YOUNG ROMEO Gymcrack semi finalist. Still very novicey

IMPERIAL EXPRESS This kennel does not travel with no-hopers. Ran well behind Proud Graham at Shelbourne where he has 28.34 winning form.

SWITH BOTHA Most of his success have come at Hove 285/474m. May struggle to get home

AERO FELONY Had an injury wrecked career. Hopefully has turned the corner but best watched

Sel: Imperial Express 11-4 BET365

Heat 2

DEANRIDGE PENNYS Possibly the gamest dog in the event. Twice clocked 28.37 last year. Went lame when winning Prestige (645m) in Jan. Qualify.

PINPOINT BOOM 20-1 Eclipse winner – unlucky at Sheffield last time out. Good sprint trials, loves the rails, needs to clear red

INSANE GEORGE Pup with two wins in Ireland – best 28.89 Limerick. Up against it.

TYRUR FERGAL Lightly raced young dog with decent early and improving. Won well in Gymcrack support race. May find the 480m testing

JAYTEE SPARTACUS Puppy Derby runner-up. Knows and runs the track well. Could go a very long way – Achiles heel could be his trapping.

BRAMBLE RI Clocked 28.30 as a pup at Shelbourne but only two races on his card. Good future, this might come a bit early

Sel: Jaytee Spartacus 11-10 BET365

Heat 3

BUBBLY HUNTER Won 2/5 including 28.46 at Shelbourne but trials don’t inspire confidence.

HOLDEM CHICO Exposed minor open racer with 29.68 (500m) form at Nottingham, likes Hove too. So far Wimbledon form is so-so.

ROOKIES MAC 29.78 (550) Shelbourne form but 0/8 in England. Do well to qualify.

FIZZYPOP HAWK Regular Wimbledon A1 winner with a best of 28.75. Has the know-how to qualify

CROKERS CHAMP Derby third back in 2014 and a fine hound in his day. Recent form suggests age might be catching up with him

OLD JOE GOLDEN Photo: Steve Nash

OLD JOE GOLDEN Photo: Steve Nash

OLD JOE GOLDEN Derby Plate winner who has been carefully prepared. Looks a certainty here and given seeding could make very late stages

Sel: Old Joe Golden 4-7 BET365

Heat 4

CATELL HENRY Ladbrokes Puppy Derby winner who finds himself in an unfamiliar draw.

SPARTA FLAME Hove D1 winner who won a heat and went out of Derby second round last year. Should lead early and fade

TYWALD RODNEY Won a heat of the Scottish Derby last year and out in this event in the second round last year. Injury wracked career. Plenty to do

CALIFORNIA Lightly raced dog who clocked 28.48 inn Kirby Memorial heats at Limerick. Can only improve on trials

PINPOINT DEN Raced in Ireland as Sword Fern and beaten a head in Tralee Derby Final. Couple of decent trials.

BRAMBLE BRUNO Made his name as a very decent sprinter, loses a couple of classes over four bends.

Sel: Pinpoint Den 7-4 BET365

Heat 5

FARLOE JOEY Runner-up in the Comerford Cakes and boasts a 28.11 at Shelbourne, but no Farloe Blitz this one – ordinary early, great finish

KENTISH DUKE Two wins from 11 races, best a 28.69 for 480m at Towcester. Will do well to qualify in this company.

TOOLMAKER SCOT Cork Supersprint finalist who looks likely to set the pace on the rail – will surely get hauled in by the big hitters.

Vacant

SANTAS SCOLARI Has a 28.54 Wimbledon win on his card which looks by far his best line of form. Huge task

JAYTEE JET Joint Derby favourite – 10 wins from 20 races including Easter Cup. A style like Some Picture – this should be penalty kick.

Sel: Jaytee Jet 4-7 BET365

Heat 6

BELLMORE NEYMAR UK debut, five wins from 14 races in Ireland. Decent but held by many on Irish form.

SHUTTHE BACKDOOR Irish form includes 28.30 at Waterford and 28.53 at Drumbo. Beaten in two UK races to date but this is his easiest task to date.

STARRING STORM Ex Hove grader who has made minor open class and stayed 575 at Romford. Will do well to qualify

BUBBLY TURBO Finshed second in the Juvenile Classic Final at Tralee. Won two of his three UK races to date. Should go close here.

HELL LETLOOSE Nottingham top heat sprinter who will start as a big priced outsider

WILLY WHITESOCKS Three wins from 15 races including a career best run of 29.02 for 480m at Sittingbourne. Others with better chances

Sel: Shutthe Backdoor 11-4 BET365

Heat 7

DO IT FOR TWIGGY Photo: Steve Nash

DO IT FOR TWIGGY Photo: Steve Nash

SIDARIAN PADRE Won a Tralee Sweepstake in 28.66, third race of his career. Unraced in UK. Nice pup with a mountain to climb

DO IT FOR TWIGGY Yarmouth & Sittingbourne Derby winner in his third season. Two flying trials and the quality to make them all go.

JAYTEE DUTCH Beaten favourite in ’15 Irish Puppy Derby Final. Beaten in all six races this year – needs to find some form and soon

ULURU CANDY Three wins in 26 races and never above 305m. Must be a travelling companion

LENSON SANTI A minor open racer and Sittingbourne A1 runner with four wins from 20 outings but could qualify given the nature of the opposition

OAKFIELD CAESAR Improving youngster now running with a W seed. On all known form plenty to find on Twiggy, but should be running on late.

Sel: Do It For Twiggy 9-4 BET365

Heat 8

GINAS LAD Two wins to date, both in A2 at Towcester. Open race winner of the future but currently one of the kennel’s lesser lights.

CLONDOTY ALEX Not the classiest dog in the Derby, but one of the bravest with an awesome strike rate to prove it. Not an inch of sand will be conceded.

DROOPYS RODDICK Awesome Juvenile winner who prevailed at Limerick in Kirby Memorial. Can lead or finish, but shouldn’t be tested until later rounds.

TOMS DREAM Novice with one race on his card. Probably won’t see which way they went. One for another day.

KNOCKBAWN CAVIAR A 28.86 winner over course and distance but would prefer a bit further. Trainer would probably settle for third place now.

PENNYS RADAMAL Best line of form is a 29.78 (500) win at Nottingham. Has even raced over 680. Slim hopes here

Sel: Clondoty Alex 3-1 BET365

Heat 9

EDEN THE KID

EDEN THE KID

MYSTICAL DREAMER A 4/13 strike rate isn’t bad including one over course and distance and a decent second place. Long term stayer though

MY MATE MAX A journeyman open racer whose best line of form is probably a 27.68 (calc) at Yarmouth. Third would probably be a bonus.

STAY LOOSE Last year’s Gymcrack winner is comparatively lightly raced. Seems to be coming back to form with a trialstake win and good trial. Useful!

EDEN THE KID The track record holder and 2015 third. Finished fourth in the Scottish Derby. Quality on legs, he can hopefully start to run into form.

SAFFRONS BOXER a Shelbourne 28.40 winner as Ivyhill Boxer. Flattered to deceive so far though 28.16 Towcester (T6) win and 28.50 trial suggest pace.

SLEEPY FRED Three A1 wins and a second in his last four A1s at Kinsley. Almost 100 races on his card –now to beat the track record holder!

Sel: Stay Loose 4-1  BET365

Heat 10

DROOPYS TURIN The dog in form with five wins from his last six races. Regularly around the 28.00 mark at Monmore. This is up a level though

SLANEYSIDE PUP Promising young dog whose best form is probably a Nottingham 17.63 (+20) sprint. Beaten in both triastakes.

MUCHO MACHO MAN Won eight from 19 in Ireland with a best of 28.38 at Shelbourne. 29.29 trial at Shawfield and 28.42 at Wimbledon. Decent hound

COOLAVANNY GOLD One of Towcester’s best hounds last autumn, Gold returned after a long break and needs to quickly step up on average trials

DROOPYS AMBITION Roddick’s sister won a couple of opens as a pup but hasn’t really kicked on. A decent 28.69 trial, but up against it.

JAYTEE PATRIOT Impressively won two of his three races in Ireland (28.64 Shel.Pk). Decent trials for a dog with a plot draw. Can he beat kennelmate?

Sel: Mucho Macho Man 5-2  BET365

Heat 11

SALACRES DAVID Raced 11 times at Nottingham, won three with a best of 30.21 (+20). Wimbledon trial – 29.07. Is that good enough to win this?

BLUE CAFU Trialled 28.50 last year, KO’s first round. Since been to Shawfield and beaten after leading. Decent chance in a poor heat

BLACKROSE GLENN One race in Ireland, beaten half, 29.08 Clonmel. Won a poor Henlow maiden in sharp – 27.46 but beaten five times. Time to find.

FARLOE CODY Won debut in 28.32 Shelbourne, but didn’t kicked on as well as might be expected. Unraced in Britain with a couple of ‘okay’ trials

Vacant

LEMON JAMESY Won a €1,000 stake at Kilkenny breaking 29.00. Three Wimbledon run between 28.89 and 28.92.

Sel Blue Cafu 1-1f BET365

Heat 12

LENSON PANDA Won 9 in a row until eliminated (4-9f) in Irish Puppy Derby semis. Recent 28.13 Shelbourne . RU R.Post Juvenile. Serious greyhound!

JOHNS PRESENT Last won over Romford 575, beaten in his last nine and facing some scary opposition

DROOPYS AWESOME So far hasn’t lived up to name. One Irish win (28.63 Limer.) in six races. Decent trialstake but poor sectional and track was fast

Vacant

BUBBLY ZEUS Big money buy in 2014 who has had more trials than the Old Bailey. Hopefully can hold together and show something, but tough in here.

SLIPPY PERRY Just beaten in RPGTV Puppy Trophy when trained by Jimmy Wright. May lack a yard of early but can follow the Panda home.

Sel: Lenson Panda 4-6 BET365

Heat 13

MY REAL MUTLEY Prolific at Hove over three distances and 28.48 (calc) over Derby trip recently. Last race was first time out of trio place in 20 races.

BADMOONRISING One won of his last 11 races – a 28.83 calculated over the Derby course. Will start at a big price

SPARTA JAMES Went out of the Kirby Memorial in second round. Best form, 29.39 Waterford. UK debut, not sure if Derby class but will surely win opens

GREENHILL GEM Runner-up in the Angel of the North Oaks and trialled over the Derby course in 28.69. Can give the five a run for his money.

BALLYMAC DARRAGH a 28.09 trialist at Perry Barr who has 28.63 winning form at Plough Lane. Good enough to land this one.

AVENTADOR Open race winning form at Swindon and Sittingbourne. On best form won’t be far away.

Sel: Ballymac Darragh 5-2 BET365
