Jimmy Wright says that Maum Legend will miss his intended target, the Steel City Cup, which starts at Sheffield on Tuesday, because of injury.
The Newcastle trainer, who wasn’t satisfied with the dog’s run in a trial at the track earlier in the week, says: “We had him at the vet this morning where he underwent a scan that showed he had a slight tendon strain. It is only a minor thing but we are not going to take any chances and he will be rested for a couple of weeks.”
