Puppy sensation Dorotas Wildcat (Ballymac Vic-Droopys Danneel, May 15) equalled the Calne Racing Arc winning time of Garryvoe Bobby at Swindon on Wednesday night.

In what appeared the easiest race of his career to date, Kevin Hutton’s 2-9f went from red for the first time. He had been seeded middle two runs previously and then drawn orange, as a railer, next time out. Although clearly an (M) seed, the additional space on the rail enabled Wildcat to overcome an ordinary break. He led home kennelmate Forest Chunk by just over four lengths in 28.35 (+20), the fastest run by a puppy in more than five years.

The kennel picked up a treble on the night with Alarming Hades (5-1) winning a second ‘480’ in 28.93 and Swift Smokey (evens) landing the ‘685’ in 42.10. There was no clean sweep with Dark Rooler (2-1f) turned over in the ‘509’ by Peter Swadden’s Jet Stream Way in 29.89.
