Sidarian Vega (Westmead Hawk-Manic Fantasy, Aug 13) once against set the fastest time in the semis finals of the Gold Cup at Shelbourne Park.
The Graham Holland trained black was not as quick away as the previous week (2.05 from 1.98) but led before the bend and went on to produce an identical clock of 28.11. Fair Taxes was three lengths second with Vega’s kennelmate Proud Graham in third.
The slower semi was dominated by Paul Hennessy. His 10-1 chance Painstown Chief (Vans Escalade-Fane Chroishna, Jun 12) was clocked at 28.61 with Slippery Fred second and Hennessy’s Jaytee Dutch back in third.
