So – it is a bright and sunny morning, God is in is heaven and Peter ‘its easy to pick winners at Nottingham’ Harnden had his tipping arse kicked by Mark Pierrepont.

The ‘all seeing one’ didn’t foresee a second and a fourth. The Big Man went £25 on a 2-1 winner, £50 on a 11-10f and was beaten in a photo with his third selection.Uncharitable types might be saying ‘about bloody time’, but instead we will be concentrating on the £80 profit while not letting the Harnden humiliation go unrecorded.

If the contest was for picking seconds, Nicky Skeggs would be smoking three virtual cigars this morning. It isn’t! Loser! Liam Aspin still dreams of getting one to finish in the first three. Bigger loser! Which leaves Jason Seeley as today’s YARMOUTH golden child. Shame that his only defeat was his biggest bet – but two small punts at 15-8 and 6-5 still yielded a £23.50 profit.

NEWCASTLE

Only two runners tonight. After last week’s humiliation James John Fenwick appears to have taken his ball home. He assures us he will be putting on his big boy pants to return to action on Thursday.

Jimmy Wright:

Robbie Honey (R7 T2) Good draw on the inside should lead one and turn handy £60 win
Droopys Bacon
(R8 T1) She won’t be involved early but decent draw and get up in home straight.. Only two selections tonight
£40 win

Steve Anderson

Deer Jet Blue (R6 T5) New to track for Brian Stuart and has gone well in trials and looks set to start his Newcastle career with a win £50 win
Bedlington Boy (R9 T1) Been very unlucky of late but I expect a good run from him tonight £50 win.

SHEFFIELD

Not saying that Carl Perry is under any pressure but . . . . .has he lost his edge? Three losing nights in a row. . . ? For every David Silva on the pitch, there’s a Phil Foden on the bench.

Tuesday night see us with just the three runners for the kennel. Geelo Milan makes his 500 debut looks very hard in on the clock. With A1 sweepstakes winner Sharpys Pluto (R11 T1) back to something like his very best. He is drawn to perfection tonight with not much pace on his outside should  see him turning very handy and powering away to win this with some ease £60 win

My second selection will be Geelo Princes (R8 T1). She has won her last two and is a bitch that just gives her all every time never flashy times but 100% tryer can see her leading the 2&3 into the turn and once in front she takes some knocking off hoping she makes every post  a winning one . £20 win

I’ll go far a third selection of the night. He is one that just caught the eye when a little unlucky in running on its first 500 race in A7 Tullymurry Dandy (R5 T3) Very handy till bumped at half way left a few lengths on the track and still recorded a time that could win this race. So I’ll take a chance with a clear run could be dipping under the 30 barrier and that could be well enough to win this A. Willy The Ram looks  the main danger but he just can’t buy a win at the minute. £20 win

The kennel’s third runner Geelo Evie Missed the short list but will be there about a with the main danger coming from Sharpys Rocket and the returning Kalamoun – two dogs lot better than A3 at their best.

On Tuesday’s card I have a runner. Little Beauty in Trap 5 in race 10 at 8.46pm. She’s a decent little bitch and really surprised me when she won nicely last time. She’s had 4 months off with lockdown, a small shoulder issue and in season and while I think she will run well I couldn’t put her up as a bet tonight. She’s a bitch that will be stepping back up to 500m shortly which is where her future lies.

The first selection tonight is Lostrigg Delta (R6 T2). A greyhound having only his fourth start tonight and looked unlucky last time. Slow away, the selection made good late gains and only narrowly missed out by a head. The clock was 29.69 that day and the greyhound remains in the same grade tonight. A level start tonight and hopefully she will not get picked up. £75 win

The second bet was a close call but I’m hoping Carl Perry can tell you more about Geelo Evie (R12 T3). (Cards close to his chest – as ever – Ed)  In the end I’ve gone with an old friend but a greyhound that will have to do it the hard way. Willy The Ram (R5 T1) is definitely in a grade he can be successful for Lisa Stephenson. He has a 29.82 on his card but his 3 wins from 23 starts tells you how he can find trouble in running. He’s capable, he’s in the right grade, he’s a bang railer and I’m hoping Lady Luck is smiling on him tonight.  £25 win

Glynn Hobbs:

I thought tonight’s card was a good mix of races, and not the easiest to pick my selections. After looking through the card several times I have come down on two pups which should have more improvement to come.

My first selection goes in the Yahoo William (R3 T3). This September 18 pup totally missed the break last week, but came home nicely to finish in 3rd position. With a run under his belt and a better start from the traps he would be hard to beat if hitting the front. £50 win.

My second selection of the night goes in the Kenny’s Hero (R9 T2) for Barrie Draper. This September 18 bitch improved massively for her second run over the 500m distance, and looks nicely pitched in trap 2. With a slower starter on her inner, and more improvement on the cards, I feel she would take some pegging back if she gets on the bunny early. £50 win
