Nottingham are asking trainers to plan ahead if they aren’t to be disappointed when trying to plan trials for the forthcoming Star Sports, Arc & LPS Greyhound Derby.

Spokesman Nathan Corden said: “We have made a huge number of spaces available but all sessions are not equal. Mondays are the most popular but next Monday is already full and Tuesday is half full already.

“For anybody wanting solos, the only day we can guarantee them is Thursday when we have 118 kennels available. Obviously we will try to help out others whenever possible, but there is limited space.”

As suggested in his column last week, Tipperary based Graham Holland has entered litter brothers Clonbrien Prince and Clonbrien Swift for trialstakes next Monday when he will also trial Lenson Blinder, Clona Blaze, Nice Charmer and Ballydoyle Valor.

The session will also feature the McNair trio King Lennon, King Sheeran and Queen Beyonce, plus Geelo Blissful, Troy Zico, and Burgess Paradise and some still unconfirmed entries from the Wallis kennel.

Nathan continued: “We would urge any trainers seeking trials to book ASAP – trial spaces are rapidly filling up.  Plenty of space available on the following dates:-“

Thursday 2nd May – kenneling at 9.15am

Thursday 9th May – kenneling at 9.15am

Solo trials can be guaranteed on the Thursday sessions

Limited trial spaces left for:-

Tuesday 30th April – kenneling at 12:30pm

Monday 6th May – kenneling at 4:15pm

Tuesday 7th May – kenneling at 12:30pm

Monday 13th May – kenneling at 4:15pm

Telephone number to book trials is 0115 910 3331

Defending champ Dorotas Wildcat was the star of Monday night’s trial session with a 17.51 (+10) two length win over Druids Busy Man over 305 metres.

Others of note included Roxholme Jim (17.65), Swift Taxman (17.72) and Bloos Diego Hope (17.78). Geelo Blissful ran a slightly disappointing 17.97 (all +10). Roxholme Ray (28.72) was quickest over the 480m course with Ballymac Osby (29.79) best over the 500 metre Derby course.

**In addition, the stadium has now rectified an error  on its website which prevented non-UK based customers from making bookings.
