TOWCESTER: Heather Dimmock’s Cabra Miller (Kinloch Brae-Cabra Millie, Jun 13)  confirmed his position as Towcester’s best stayer with his fourth win in his last five outings over the track’s 655 metre course. Always prominent Miller cleared the first bend from Black Francis and then held off a sustained challenge from Francis and kennelmate Ferryforth Fran – distances half and half in 39.85 (-15). The 655 maiden went to Matt Dartnall’s High Agenda in 40.26 (-20). Over the sprint, Kevin Hutton’s Glenanore Ace (Godsend-Marbeck Star, Jun 13) extended his winning sequence to four with a near three length win 15.35 (-10). In a messy 480 open, Swift Edwards showed great determination to run on for a 28.74 victory, almost half a second slower than his previous victory.

CRAYFORD: Favourite Swabys Millward was unable to rescue a missed break when beaten in the night’s top 540 open. The Paul Young trained black was fourth at the sectional and although he overtook early leader Fizzypop Hawk, there was no reeling in Tony Gifkins’ Coolavanny Ester (Confident Rankin-Sarasota Ester, May 13) who won in 34.44 (-30). Jenni March’s sole outside entry Left Over Lolly (16-1) came out in front in a three-way photo finish. Garryglass Zara attempted to lead all the way in the night’s 714m open, but she was caught on the run-in by Mick Fawsitt’s Diesel Flo in 46.38.

WIMBLEDON: Tony Taylor returned from Hove to dominate both Springbok Trialstakes. Aero Frenzy looked a potential winner of the main event with a near 11 length win in 29.51 (-40). Kennelmates Brinkleysdominic and Kyletawn Boy finished 1-2 in the second qualifier, the winner clocking 29.67 (-20).
