Trainer Pat Rosney and owner Kevin Heilbron, successful last year with Bush Standard made it back-to-back victories in the BVOF Northern Flat Championship at Belle Vue on Saturday when Craigues Diva landed the title.

The bitch showed good early pace to lead through the first turn and she maintained a steady gallop throughout as she finished two lengths clear of Fire Height Hero in 27.70 for the 470 metres.

Rosney, who is enjoying a purple patch at present having landed last week’s Gold Cup at Monmore, said: “She was helped by the withdrawal of Calzaghe George (sore), but she still put in a good performance and a good time.

“She left the track last night with Kevin’s son Tom, who has a trainer’s licence and is attached to Pelaw Grange, but I am sure she will be back at Belle Vue in the coming weeks with the track now putting on more opens.”
