There is a rare Irish contender for the Greyhound Writers’ Association’s Greyhound of the Month accolade with Pat Buckley’s RFS Puppy Derby winner Droopys Roddick is included in ten nominations for the GBGB-sponsored trophy for the November award.

The list is:

Coolavanny Bisto – successful in 2 of 4, landing the Henlow Maiden Gold Cup.

Corrin Bob – one victory from three starts in Ladbrokes Gold Collar at Crayford.

Dashing Star – unbeaten in 2 starts, lifted the Ladbrokes Kent Cesarewitch at Crayford.

Droopys Alessio – 5 starts, 4 wins, including Sheffield Sprint comp.

Droopys Roddick – won both starts, taking the RFS Puppy Derby at Wimbledon.

Fivestar Clipper – unbeaten in 4 starts, winning Romford Stayers’ comp and reaching final of Mitch Millward Essex Vase.

Fizzypop Buddy – won 2 of 2, including the Category One St Leger at Wimbledon.

Handy Henry – recorded one win from two starts in Ladbrokes Kent National Hurdle at Crayford.

Headford Joe – won all 3 starts, including Ladbrokes Guys & Dolls.

Pinpoint Boom – took the Category One Betfred Eclipse in only win from three starts.
