Shawfield Racing Manager Daniel Rankin has given his view on the likely outcome of the three RPGTV Scottish Derby semi finals.

I can see plenty of trouble in this one with the only prediction being that Droopys Davy should avoid it and looks a certainty to make the final.

Braveheart Bobby looks better suited to the rails but I can see the four cutting straight across. Nadal may get a decent run from five. It is case of who gets caught in the trouble.

This is a horrible draw for Droopys Expert who will need a miracle to get a clear run. There will be no room on the inside. Jaguar Jack should improve from the first round and Cooneen Jack, who runs the track well and is nearly 39 kilos should also be thereabouts at the first bend. You would expect five and six to come on for the first look at the track. King Cash in particular impressed me in the first round to run Droopys Verve to three lengths after finding a bit of trouble.

This is a three dog race in my opinion, 1-3-4. Whether he traps or doesn’t, Droopys Verve goes through to the final. Five ran well enough in the first round but doesn’t stay. If there is any trouble, Greenwell Jean will be running on strongly at the death.
