Press release

Premier Greyhound Racing (PGR) announced today that it has secured an exclusive agreement to broadcast greyhound racing on Sky Sports Racing from 1 January 2024.

The daily coverage from PGR tracks on Sky Sports Racing will be complemented by a new, dedicated red button channel available behind the main channel in Sky homes, which will mean fans can see every PGR race covered live.

In addition, every PGR race will be streamed live on the new greyhounds.attheraces.com website.

Premier Greyhound Racing aims to be the global home of greyhound entertainment by providing the best quality and most sustainable British greyhound racing for betting operators and racing fans, built on a platform promoting the highest welfare and integrity standards that is aligned with the Greyhound Board of Great Britain’s policies and standards.

This new media partnership is an important step in PGR’s ambition to unite stakeholders and provide the comprehensive shop window the sport deserves, championing the stars of the show – the greyhounds – and those who dedicate themselves to their care and expert training.

PGR has already invested significantly in data tools for its premium greyhound racing product and innovations will be brought to the coverage on Sky Sports Racing and greyhounds.attheraces.com including enhanced graphics for form, statistics analysis, racecards, bet prompts and race predictors.

As part of the partnership with PGR, attheraces.com is set to invest and develop its greyhound racing offering further over the next 18 months with a second phase, new site roll out planned for release by autumn 2024.

Mark Kingston, Director at Premier Greyhound Racing, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Sky and Sky Sports Racing, well known for its high-quality horse racing broadcast and digital coverage in the UK and Ireland. Viewers will be able to enjoy more live greyhound racing than ever before, tracks from all over the country will be showcased and we hope this significant partnership will help extend the reach of the sport, attract more fans and secure a bright future for the industry.”

James Singer, Commercial and Media Rights Director, Sky Sports Racing, said: “This partnership is great news for our viewers and users who will have access to dedicated greyhound racing coverage for the first time on the Red Button and via a new website destination which we aim to develop much further over the coming months. Our own research shows there is a strong appetite for it. We fully support PGR’s intentions in properly showcasing the sport as well as its crucial commitment to welfare and ensuring that greyhounds have the best experience during their career and into retirement.”
