Newcastle made full use of home advantage in the opening round of the northern Group Bags Track Championship on Saturday as they built up a lead of 46 points.
Steve Anderson and Jimmy Wright got them off to the perfect start as they sent out Bramble Robson and Shellam Delano to finished first and second in the first race to pick up maximum points and Robson ensured their efforts finished on a high note with his Bramble Ted winning the final contest.
Newcastle’s points total came to 80, with Belle Vue some way behind on 34, followed by Sunderland 22, Kinsley 21, and Doncaster 11.
Kinsley will host the next round in this group at their meeting on Sunday, September 27.
