Scolari Sound is one race away from back-to-back National Sprint titles though he will have to reverse form with Walk The Talk to do so.

Dave Pruhs’ runner (T1 5-2) went down by a short head to Walk The Talk (T4 7-2) in the fastest of the three semi finals, the winner clocking 17.76 for the 305m with favourite Master Lego (T3 7-4f) back in fifth.

Next quickest on the clock was Ela Ela Genie (T2 5-2) who made it six wins from his last eight outings with a half length win over Trapstyle Jet (T1 6-4f) The winner’s time was 17.83.

The second heat was considerably slower and went to Suirside Leah (T1 7-4f) with a length and a quarter win over second favourite Ballymac Sexton (T4 2-1). The winner’s time was 18.40
